What’s New In Pokemon X and Pokemon Y
Riding Pokemon
A new feature in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y is the ability to ride on the back of certain Pokemon, like Rhyhorn and Mamoswine. By riding a Pokemon, you can comfortably cross even the harshest terrain. This fun new feature helps you explore every nook and cranny of the Kalos region.
Sometimes you will encounter rocks while riding a Pokemon, but these obstacles are no match for your larger Pokemon mounts. Simply press A to smash any rocks that get in your way.
New Applications on the Touch Screen
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y take full advantage of the Nintendo’s Touch Screen interface with brand new applications that will enhance your Pokemon experience like never before. Switch between screens using the left and right buttons to find the Player Search System, Super Training and Pokemon-Amie.
Shops and Boutiques
If you thought that choosing your character at the game’s onset was cool, you haven’t seen anything yet! Pokemon X and Pokemon Y take customisation to greater heights by letting you customer your look at special shops, including numerous clothing boutiques and the hair salon in Lumiose City.
When visiting the hair salon, let the stylist know what you would like. You can change your hair colour or hairstyle in a variety of ways. You can find the salon in Lumiose City’s South Boulevard.
Boutiques are special shops that sell all sorts of clothing and accessories. Each boutique has its own style, and some purchases may have a pretty price to match. The selection of items available at a boutique changes daily, so visit them often! The boutique’s inventory also varies based on your character’s gender.
Pokemon-Amie
Pokemon-Amie is a unique touch screen mode that becomes available early in the adventure. This mode helps your Pokemon feel more affectionate toward you through a variety of fun activities, including petting your Pokemon and feeding it delicious snacks called Poke Puffs. Affectionate Pokemon will perform better than ever before in battle.
Your Pokemon also responds to your voice and expressions in Pokemon-Amie. Try entertaining your Pokemon by calling its name or making faces. Try all sorts of things, for you never know how your Pokemon might react.
Pokemon-Amie also lets you play fun minigames once you have three or more healthy Pokemon on your team, including Berry Picker, Head It and Tile Puzzle. These simple minigames are easy to grasp yet challenging to master. Play together with your Pokemon to earn more Poke Puffs.
The Decorate option lets you change your wallpaper or show off fancy décor items such as cushions. You can also set out Poke Puffs in the hopes of attracting nearby Pokemon to visit. Visiting Pokemon may give you new décor items or more Poke Puffs, so they are always welcome. Have fun decorating with décor items and customising your Pokemon-Amie experience.
Super Training
The world of Pokemon raising has been turned upside down by genius inventor Clemont’s latest, greatest invention – Super Training! This mode becomes available early in the adventure. You can use it to improve your Pokemon’s base stats and battle-worthiness anywhere, anytime.
